Unbelievable!

This is absolutely an eye opener into the science of man-tracking. It details how the mind controls the body as well as how external influences play on the decisions that the mind makes. If that isn't enough, this book goes into extreme detail of how the body mechanics and the mind work together during locomotion and being able to read the who, what, and why a person moved the way they did from the foot just contacting the ground. From psychomotor to locomotor this book gave me the ability to read and interpret human behavior just by "reading" the ground where a person has walked. As a man-tracker with around 25 years of experience, this has opened my eyes more than anything I have ever learned. I can say without a doubt whatsoever that anyone who is involved in SAR, Law Enforcement or military tracking would highly benefit from reading and studying forensic Spoorology.

The best ESRI book EVER!

Tired of the beginner stuff? This is the best book ESRI has ever published outside of the texts provided for those expensive training sessions (I wish they made their training manuals available for sale...oh well!). There are good script examples and a good data set to use for training on the CD provided. I didn't know squat about AML until I picked up this book. Although ESRI is moving towards a COM based language in ArcGIS, they didn't get rid of AML and there are some tasks in GIS that are more suited for a scripting language like AML. Now, if they would only come out with a decent manual for MapObjects....

The author of five books and contributor to others, Batura’s writings are motivated and inspired by a desire to encourage and lift the hearts of others. Most recently, he collaborated with Jim Daly on ReFocus: Living a Life that Reflects God’s Heart. Batura and his wife, Julie, had the privilege of adopting their three young boys, Riley, Will and Alex, at birth. As a parent of an adopted child, I looked forward to reading this book. I was not disappointed! Not only was the book an excellent read, I could not put it down until I came to the last page. I had no idea how many accomplished and famous people were adopted. This is clearly a book I want to keep for my child once she is old enough to read. Chosen for Greatness is an inspirational book that every reader will enjoy. It is a book I highly recommend for all readers.

An gem of history story telling

This is a genuinely remarkable book. Batura tells the adoptive stories of 16 famous people from today reaching back more than 2,000 from Babe Ruth, Leo Tolstoy, Steve Jobs, George W. Carver, Faith Hill to Jesus. He uses each of these stories to tell the reader a bit of the history of adoption in its long history. It's a brilliant device for telling the larger story of adoption.

In fact, the book is as valuable an explanation of important parts of history in general as it is about each person's own personal story. Batura is a very gifted researcher and story teller. I couldn't recommend the highly enough.

I am very happy with this aid and it seems that my daughter ...

This book was extremely helpful. My 5 year old have tried other books but was only mildly excited about them. I can see with this book she showed some more enthusiasm. I believe the colors helped quite a bit. The questions can be somewhat challenging at times, but this can only help with her progress and increase her potential to do well on testing day. I am very happy with this aid and it seems that my daughter is happy as well.

Good source for practice

This book has a good set of practice problems that a child can solve to work upon the concepts. The multiple choice questions use colorful patterns that retain the attention and interest level. There is a clear progression from easy to harder that enables a sense of early achievement in the child. It would be better if the book has more variety and number of problems to be solved. My son was able to run through the book in two quick sessions.

My son is taking the GT test soon. I started preparing him since last year by sending him to a preschool. When I bought this book for my son as his last practice before taking the test, I was impressed that there was such a well thought out preparation book. The format as style were just like those on the actual test. I also bought this company's book for OLSAT and it has been just as good. I recommend these books.
